Things to Do in Santa Barbara: November 2016

Fall is here and the weather is not really changing very much – because this is Santa Barbara! It is still sunny and beautiful. Guests are still enjoying kayaking, biking and surfing into the fall and through the winter. There are some fun events happening in town during the month of November. Here are few that we thought you should know about.

Even though the busy summer season is over, there are plenty of fun things to do in Santa Barbara and the surrounding area in November.

Joan Baez – Arts and Lectures Series – Thursday November 3rd
Legendary folk singer Joan Baez is a musical force of nature. She marched on the front line of the civil rights movement with Martin Luther King, Jr., inspired Václav Havel in his fight for a Czech Republic, then 40 years later saluted the Dixie Chicks for protesting the Iraq war. Her earliest recordings fed traditional ballads into the rock vernacular, before she introduced Bob Dylan to the world in 1963.

Channel Islands Sea Cave Kayak Tours – most days

National Geographic Live with Brian Skerry – Sunday, November 20th

Horseback Riding – call for available dates
Live your dream – Come enjoy a romantic horseback ride on one of Santa Barbara’s beautiful beaches. Imagine the waves crashing around you, the smell of salt air and the sun setting in the distance while you follow the glistening shoreline on horseback. 805-884-9283

Santa Barbara Arts & Crafts Show: Every Sunday. 10 a.m. ’til Dusk
Approximately 300 Santa Barbara County resident artists come to display their own works in an informal atmosphere under the palms of seaside Chase Palm Park. All items are original art, created by the artists you meet. The show is held every fair weather Sunday and Special Holidays.

First Thursday — Art, Music & Theater: Every Thursday 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
On the first Thursday of each month, downtown galleries keep their doors open late allowing the public to enjoy local art in a fun and social atmosphere. Additional attractions such as music, artist openings, demonstrations, and refreshments are featured at participating venues. Downtown Santa Barbara

Downtown Santa Barbara Farmers Market: Every Saturday 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m/ Tuesday 4:00pm – 7:30.
Come down and buy local fresh vegetables, fruits, flowers, small plants and specialty items. Street musicians, music and downtown shops and restaurants. Year round, rain or shine. Corner of Santa Barbara and Cota Streets on Sunday and on State Street (500-600 bocks) on Tuesday.
