Aiming High with Archer School
Autumn 2006 got a great start with a 2-day outdoor education
program for the Archer School's 11th graders. Students and
faculty selected from four activities, hiking, biking, surfing,
and kayaking, each of which was lead by SBACo's outstanding
staff. Then six weeks later Archer School returned, this
time with 6th graders, for a four-day program that included
hiking, biking, rock climbing, and kayaking. Students, faculty
and staff all came away with smiles on their faces. For
2007 we're doing a new trip with Archer--whitewater rafting
on the American River! Only a handful of faculty accompany
each group, and we hear there's a lottery to see which lucky
faculty members get to join us for these activities next
year!
Archer School's Director of Experiential Education David
Smith says, "Everything was really flawless from start
to finish. The girls had a terrific experience and I can't
wait to go on it again next year. Such incredible leaders.
You really run a top notch organization over there."

HIGHLIGHTS FROM 2006
Below you’ll find some highlights of 2006, including
several successful corporate events, multisport events for
colleges, schools, and special interest and nonprofit groups.
Red Bull
The Santa Barbara Adventure Company and Red Bull
recently spent a day at El Capitan Canyon teaching Red Bull
reps the basic and advanced skills required to mountain
bike. Along with some fantastic SBACo guides, Shaums March
and other professional mountain bikers led the day's events.
The clinic, complete with some music and fun, ended with
a ride on varying terrain through the canyon.
SBACo now offers Horseback Riding
Just north of town, in Santa Barbara’s Santa
Ynez Mountains, horseback trails wind through canyons and
along rugged ridge tops, crossing fields of sage and coastal
oaks with sweeping views of the scenic Gaviota Coastline.
