Overview

Explore Prisoners Harbor, on Santa Cruz Island’s north coast. We’ll spend 2-2.5 hours exploring the pristine waters, kelp forests, beautiful coastlines and rich history. This area of the island is the border of Channel Islands National Park and the Nature Conservancy. What weather to expect at this time of year

Meets on Santa Cruz Island daily between 10:30am – 11:00am
and select days between 9:30am – 10:00am

Paddling Time and Distance:

2-3 miles, 2-2.5 hours of island kayaking

Level of Difficulty:

Beginner through advanced levels. Children under age 5 not permitted.

$153 per adult + ferry transportation ($59)*
$143 per child 12 and under + ferry transportation ($46)*
*Ferry tickets must be purchased to get to the island. You’ll have the option to add your ferry ticket to your cart. If you already have ferry tickets directly through Island Packers or will be camping on the island you can select to not add ferry tickets to your cart.

Ferry service is aboard modern catamarans operated by Island Packers, the sole transportation concessioner to Channel Islands National Park. You will be given the option to purchase ferry tickets from us during the checkout process after adding your kayak tour.

The 10:30am tour requires a ferry departure of 9am or earlier from Ventura Harbor. READ YOUR FERRY CONFIRMATION FOR YOUR CHECK IN TIME.

Overview

Kayak at Scorpion Anchorage and explore Channel Islands National Park. We’ll spend 2.5-3 hours exploring the sea caves around Scorpion Anchorage on Santa Cruz Island. No other area of the park offers as many sea cave kayaking opportunities. Some of the most beautiful sea caves in the world can be found at Scorpion Anchorage. Availability
The Adventure tour meets on Santa Cruz Island daily @ 10:30am and select days @ 9:30am
(Please note, entire tour time is closer to 4 hours with our safety talk, kayak instruction, and gear-up time.)
*This location will reopen after the completion of the pier at Scorpion Anchorage. The anticipated opening will be December 18th 2020.

What if I want to snorkel?
Snorkel Gear is available for rent at our storefront on the island. After the kayaking tour you will have some free time to snorkel. Please tell your guide at check-in if you are interested in snorkeling.

Two Piece 7mm Wet suit and Hood – $25

On our guided snorkel tour at Scorpion Anchorage, guests receive expert knowledge while exploring the beautiful kelp forests and along pristine coastlines. There may even be a chance to swim in and out of sea caves! Guides will offer discussions of marine ecology and natural history of the islands while guests view sea life up close.

Meets July-Aug every Sunday @ 11:30 or 2:00pm on Santa Cruz Island
Meets Sept every Friday, Sunday, and Monday @ 11:30 or 2:00pm on Santa Cruz Island

Snorkeling Tour Time:

1-1.5 hours

Level of Difficulty:

Beginner through advanced experience levels. Minimum age: 10, children under 12 must be escorted by a parent on the tour.

Mask, fins, wetsuit, hood, snorkel life vest, guide
We do not offer prescription snorkel lenses.

Overview

On our guided kayak and snorkel tour, guests receive expert knowledge while exploring the beautiful kelp forests and sea caves along pristine coastlines. Guides will offer discussions of marine ecology and natural history of the island while guests view sea life up close.

This tour is best for

1. Guests who already have previous kayak and snorkel experience. Guests should be comfortable in the ocean and comfortable swimming with a snorkel.
2. Campers who are already on the island and want a full day of adventure on & in the water

Available Saturdays and Sundays
Meets on Santa Cruz Island @ 9:30am

Tour Length:

1-1.5 hours of kayaking & 45 minutes of snorkeling

Level of Difficulty:

Intermediate through advanced experience levels. Prior snorkel & kayak experience will make for a better tour.

Minimum Age:

Children must be 10 or older to participate in our kayak & snorkel combo tour. Children under 12 must be escorted by an adult that can share a tandem kayak with them. All guests must be comfortable swimming in the ocean.

Includes

Tandem kayaks, mask and snorkel, fins, wetsuit+hood, paddle jackets, all safety equipment, guide.
We do not offer prescription snorkel lenses.
