As the Summer comes to a close, there is still plenty of sunshine to celebrate here in Santa Barbara. The days are usually in the 70s, clear and sunny. Locals and visitors will still be visiting the beaches, kayaking the shoreline and surfing the breaks — though these are year around activities when you are on the sunny central coast. Here are some of the fun goings-on around town this this September.
Wine Tours of Santa Ynez, Every day 10am pickup.
Come explore Santa Barbara’s wine region by shuttle van or on bike. Santa Barbara Adventure Company offers three incredible wine tasting tours. The 28th Annual California Lemon Festival, September 26 & 27, 10am to 5pm
Had just North of Santa Barbara to Goleta and you’ll find wonderful food, a fantastic family atmosphere, and variety of entertainment and activities at Girsh Park. Enjoy rides, a pie eating contest and more. Pets are not allowed in the park for this event.
Stand-Up Paddle Lessons – Come tour the American Riviera on a Stand Up Paddle board. Experience this ocean sport that is quickly becoming a local favorite. Most tours see wildlife including sea lions, seals and sea stars. $89 per person with a 2 person minimum.
Santa Barbara Arts & Crafts Show, Every Sunday
Approximately 300 Santa Barbara County resident artists come to display their own works in an informal atmosphere under the palms of seaside Chase Palm Park. All items are original art, created by the artists you meet. The show is held every fair weather Sunday and Special Holidays.

First Thursday — Art, Music & Theater
On the first Thursday of each month, downtown galleries keep their doors open late allowing the public to enjoy local art in a fun and social atmosphere. Additional attractions such as music, artist openings, demonstrations, and refreshments are featured at participating venues. Downtown Santa Barbara

Downtown Santa Barbara Farmers Market, Every Saturday and Tuesday
Come down and buy local fresh vegetables, fruits, flowers, small plants and specialty items. Street musicians, music and downtown shops and restaurants. Year round, rain or shine. Corner of Santa Barbara and Cota Streets on Saturday and on State Street (500-600 bocks) on Tuesday.
Time: 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m/4:00pm – 7:30.
September in Santa Barbara never ceases to make me smile! I’ll be catching the waves late into the evenings here and maybe follow that with my favorite wine! In any case, hopefully we’ll see you around town having a great time too!
